Scouse Brows in association with Sleek MakeUP!

When I was 14 I went to town on my brows and almost plucked them into oblivion (first sign of my OCD tendencies?!) and the outer edges never sprouted back to what they were - this can also be a symptom of PCOS.  Until recently I really didn't like a thick, heavy brow look, but as the years advance, I do think fuller brows can give the face a more youthful appearance where overly plucked, think, arched brows can look a harsh.

I've tried a few brow kits before; e.l.f., Benefit, etc, and while they've been good, they weren't good enough to make me switch over from a pencil.  Using a brow kit can be a bit of a faff if you're in a rush, but as brows really do frame your features, if you're going somewhere special and you have the time, it's worth taking it.

This Sleek Brow Kit is in Light, and although it's a little dark for me, I used it in quite a heavy-handed way so you can see the full effect.

New York Shopping List Ideas Request!

source

So a few days ago I booked a flight to go visit a friend who is working in New York for a bit, and I leave on Saturday.  I'll be staying in near Times Square and needless to say I am BEYOND excited as it will be my first time visiting! Squeeee!!!

Rather than rock up and go on a crazy beauty shopping spree buying loads of random stuff I probably won't use, I thought it would be a good idea to put a little list together, so I've been trawling through Sephora's  website and watching lots of American YouTubers!  I love Ulta, but there doesn't look to be a store within a decent distance, so that's a little disappointing.  I'm hoping to make a pilgrimage to Woodbury Common, a massive discount outlet place, a bit like Bicester Village, but so much better.  I'm on the lookout for some Ugg boots and possibly a swanky handbag, but I am a little scared of panic buying so my friend will have to hold me back!

So here's my list so far.  I definitely won't be picking up everything on the list, and I probably wouldn't find all of it anyway, but I'd really appreciate if you guys have any more suggestions for me.  I'm really looking out for products you can't get in the UK, or which are massively cheaper in the US.

Some Current Skincare

I was sent a couple of products from the Yes to Cucumbers range and I've been getting on really well with them.  I'm already a huge fan of the Yes to Carrots Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser but I tend to use that every few days whereas this soothing foaming Cucumber cleaner can be used morning and night because its very gentle.  The scent is divine, a little like cucumbers, but it has a richer element to it, so if you have very sensitive skin I'd be wary of it.

Don't Splash Out To Lash Out - Sleek MakeUP Mascara

As a HUGE Sleek MakeUP fan I was really looking forward to giving their latest mascara offering a go.  They have so many other great budget-friendly products it makes sense that they'd want to branch out.

The narrow brush shape is the kind I tend to favour and I always prefer nylon over plastic, so it got off to a good start.  However, although the formula is very carbon black, it's just too dry for me.

Magic of PIXIGlow Event: PIXI Beauty Collaboration with Disney's Tinkerbell!

Last night I went along to the launch of PIXI's new Spring/Summer PIXIGlow collaboration with Disney - specifically Tinkerbell with fellow beauty blogger and YouTuber (and best friend of 20 yrs!) Angel Armogida.  Although I'd come across PIXI at Boots before, I never took the pale green packaging seriously (shallow? moi?!) and so I was pretty much new to the brand.  I was surprised to learn that their little boutique just off Carnaby St (around the corner from fellow Swedish make up brand Make Up Store) has been there for 12 years.

PIXI is the brainchild of a former Swedish model Petra Strand whose aim is to provide women with easy to use, mulitpurpose, long wearing products.

The range launches in Boots today.
