This scent ain't for the faint hearted, so all you gals who love your Marc Jacobs Daisy-clean fumes might struggle with this one, but I adore it. There's something about ginger skin which gives it a Teflon quality when it comes to perfume lasting power but this little Guerlain sucker hangs around me in a heady mist until home time.
I'm pretty rubbish at describing scents and the Guerlain website if far too Flash-happy for me to direct you there (you might not come back here!), so I'll reproduce their description here for you:
Fruity Floral Surprising, audacious, feminine. Succumb to the sparkling and unexpected sensuality of Insolence. This fruity floral is a daring blend of brilliant red fruit and a beautiful, luminous iris that reveals surprising notes of violet. This is a new, radiant and high-voltage violet, a triumphant violet that registers at the opposite end of the spectrum from the shy whisper usually used to treat this flower in half-shades and shadows. It’s a transfiguration, a discovery, a totally new and yet familiar flower that bursts forth from the start.
Not sure so I'd personally describe it as a fruity floral, to me it's like a rich, musky, exotic oriental. It's a really sexy night time perfume, but I'm happy to spritz it on at 7am and bounce.
How pretty is the bottle?
I picked up the box set in the Boots Christmas sale for about £23 which was an amazing bargain. I've wanted Insolence since it was first released but it always seemed a little too ballsy for me and I wussed out and went for her younger, sweeter sister, My Insolence, which is probably my all time favourite scent as it reminds me of a really happy time in life and I've been through a good few bottles of it. Normally I hate 'reinterpretations' of perfumes, such as Gucci Rush 2 and Dior Addict 2, but when Insolence is finished I'll probably go back to My Insolence.
Have you tried Insolence? Or do you prefer My Insolence?
On another note, my blogging mojo is returning slowly but surely...I've become a gym bunny lately and am doing some evening classes as well as working full time, so it can be really hard to discipline myself to put time aside, but I know the more I do it the more I'll want to...come back blogging mojo! Come back!
Hope you all have an amazeballs weekend :)
