Freebie | L'Occitane Hand Cream with November's Marie Claire

November's Marie Claire magazine - £3.70

November was quite a bumper month for great magazine freebies with InStyle's free Benefit make up products and then this gorgeous mini L'Occitane hand cream with Marie Claire.  I chose the Rose Petals fragrance which is gorgeous but there are a couple of other scents to choose from too.  I should have blogged this ages ago but just came across these snaps on my camera tonight, but hopefully you'll still be able to grab one at your local newsagent or supermarket.  The hand cream is gorgeously nourishing and worth much more than the cost of the magazine.  If you're stuck for cute Christmas stocking fillers these are a great idea and why not donate the spare magazines to your local doctor's surgery.

December's Glamour magazine comes with one of four Nails Inc polishes.  I went for a gorgeous pillar box red with a hint of pink duochrome - St. James, but there's also a pale pink (Elizabeth Street) and a dark blueish black and golden glitters whose names escape me.  Check out this great post from MakeupSavvy.co.uk on them.

Review | My Best Body Skincare Find of 2012: Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil Skin Perfector

Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil Skin Perfector - £7.99
Where to buy? Boots in store or online or Superdrug

This impulse purchase has turned out to be my favourite body care product this year.  I've tried a million and one body oils, lotions, mists and sprays down the years and while they are nourishing, they are not practical.  I can't stand getting oil all over my pajamas, bedsheets, clothes - have you ever tried wriggling into skinny jeans with damp legs? Yeah...

This Garnier body oil is a revelation - the texture is gorgeous, it's supremely nourishing and skin softening and the scent is heavenly.  It's smells far nicer than more upmarket rivals and reminds me of a softer version of Juicy Couture Couture perfume, I tend to forgo perfume on days I use this as the fragrance is too divine to interfere with.  I struggle with super dry legs in the winter and have been using this body oil much more often than I used to with heavier versions.  It really is as weightless and non-transferable as it claims and contains a blend of Argan, Macadamia, Almond and Rose oil.

Garnier is often on special offer at Boots so if you see it for £5.99 (what I got it for a couple of months ago) stock up!  I took these pictures only a few days after cracking into the bottle and you can see how much and I used (although a little goes a very long way) and the cap had already gone astray! The spray pump is great for going over your whole body, but if you apply it on a light carpeted surface like me, then you might just want to spray it into your hands and rub in to avoid oil staining.

I cannot praise this body oil enough and so award it Holy Grail status.  You need this in your life.

The H+M Pearl + Diamante Collar

I picked this up last month when H&M ran an offer whereby if you spent a certain amount instore you got £5 off your next purchase over £10, so I was lucky enough to get this for £7.99 reduced from £12.99.  I can't see it online but I've noticed a pink-hued version in store. I was a slow starter for the whole collar necklace trend, but I've been buying a lot of tops with embellished collars and I love the look.  I love wearing this with a plain top or dress.  Word of warning though, be careful not to spray perfume or hairspray when you're wearing it as it will tarnish easily.

Are you on PINTEREST? I signed up ages ago, didn't really do much with it, but in the past couple of months it's a daily destination (okay morning and evening) for me.  It's even cutting into my Facebook time! Here's my page - http://pinterest.com/clickandmakeup/ - why don't you leave a link to yours below in the comments so I can find and follow you?

Lots more posts coming up over the next few days, but for now, happy Hump Day!

Review and Swatches: Sleek MakeUP Limited Edition PPQ Shangri-La Collection - Respect iDivine Palette and Jazz Matte Lipgloss

Sleek MakeUP have teamed up for a second time with quirky London fashion label PPQ to create two eyeshadow palettes for their Shanghri-La collection and this time added complementary matte lipglosses.

This Limited Edition set channels a 1960s glamorous Motown vibe inspired by PPQ's S/S 2013 collection.  The respect iDivine eyeshadow palette offers a warm selection of shades perfect for A/W while the Supreme palette is cooler toned.

The Truly Mattely Deeply matte lipgloss in Jazz is a perfectly retro pillarbox red while Soul is a cool toned baby pink.  While I can't fault the colour or pigmentation of these glosses, I'm not fully on board with the matte texture.  Although they go on creamy, I found it too drying and needed to follow up with balm or gloss over the top.  However, they are extremely long lasting and vibrant.

Sleek eyeshadow palettes are renowned for their excellent pigmentation, but I found the eight matte shadows a little lacking on bare skin, particularly the lighter ones.  Over an eyeshadow base however they are much more vibrant and durable.  The four shimmer shades are where the palette excels and O'Jays is particularly gorgeous, almost like a warmer NARS Orgasm.

The collection launched on 26 September and the palettes are available for £7.99 at Superdrug or from Sleek MakeUP's website for £11.99 where they're  packaged with one of the matte lipglosses.   The lipglosses are also sold separately for £4.99 each.
