Scouse Brows in association with Sleek MakeUP!

When I was 14 I went to town on my brows and almost plucked them into oblivion (first sign of my OCD tendencies?!) and the outer edges never sprouted back to what they were - this can also be a symptom of PCOS.  Until recently I really didn't like a thick, heavy brow look, but as the years advance, I do think fuller brows can give the face a more youthful appearance where overly plucked, think, arched brows can look a harsh.

I've tried a few brow kits before; e.l.f., Benefit, etc, and while they've been good, they weren't good enough to make me switch over from a pencil.  Using a brow kit can be a bit of a faff if you're in a rush, but as brows really do frame your features, if you're going somewhere special and you have the time, it's worth taking it.

This Sleek Brow Kit is in Light, and although it's a little dark for me, I used it in quite a heavy-handed way so you can see the full effect.

Unlike the other brow kits I've tried, the wax is very soft and easy to work with.  You could get away with just using the powder and setting in place with some clear brow gel for a subtler effect.

Here's an untouched brow...pretty scary :(

Up close they look pretty scary, but from afar they give a pretty good effect.  I normally wouldn't wear them this heavy.  The little angled brush which comes with the set is actually very good.  The Brow Kit looks to be sold out currently online, but you could try Superdrug or check back on Sleek's website soon.  The brow kit costs £7.99.

 * The Brow Kit was sent to me for review purposes

  2. I love heavy drag brows, but I normally HATE those brow waxes with a passion because they just coated my hairs too thickly. This one actually looks good!

  5. This looks really nice, I find it especially hard to find a brow kit/pencil/shadow that will match my red-hair. My eyebrows are very fair and a bit all over the place a lot of the time and this looks quite natural! Maybe I should give this a go, see what's it's like! Thanks! Great Review! <3

  7. It looks nice. I didn't know PCOS has a part in regrowth of brows! Anyway, my brow path is similar to yours,I used to hate mine and plucked everything, but now I'm into the thicker style (maybe not Scouse style) and I use the HD brow kit and it works fine for me.

  8. Oooh your natural, pre-makeup brows look much prettier than mine!! Also, this looks like a nice little brow set. Next time I want to try a new one I may have to pick this one up. Seems reasonable.

  9. I've started growing my eyebrows back out after years of plucking them to death. I use a mixture of 2 matte browns from the Naked Palette. I have thyroid disease (and suspected PCOS) so the outer thirds of my brows don't grow anyway. I fill in my brows before I pluck any strays now, which stops the urge to pluck away madly.

Yours look really natural still! xoxo
