My Everyday Make-Up of the Moment

Every couple of months I go through my make up collection and pick out the essentials that I plan to use every morning in a bid to streamline my routine as my collection is stored by function - blushers, eyes, foundations, etc.  I try to focus on using up any products that are near the end.  I get a strange satisfaction from finishing something up!

This is my current box, it has a bit more in there than I strictly need, with a couple of eyeshadow palettes and blushes, but they keep things exciting :)

I'm trying to finish up my Lacura and Bourjois foundations, I love them both and have already repurchased back ups.  Despite using them all the time they've lasted for ages.  I'm really getting into the Collection 2000 Perfect Finish foundation.  The quality of their bargain basement foundations astounds me - I also love the Lasting Finish.

The pot with the black lid is actually some Clinique Pore Minimizer which I decanted from the tube and it's amazing how much product I salvaged.  It's a great primer and really fills in your pores but is no where near as gloopy as the L'Oreal Studio resurfacing primer.

I'm also near the end of the No7 dupe for YSL's Touche Eclat, which is a good deal if you use one of those £5 off vouchers towards it.  Benefit Georgia is a wonderful finishing powder, it just transforms your overall complexion.  Some people expect it to work like a blush but it's not pigmented enough for that.

I prefer to use a box rather than a bag as it's easier to see everything inside.  I'm loving the box that the Juicy Couture perfume I got for Christmas came in.  I'm trying not to get it grubby with make up!

  2. I'm the complete opposite. I always get so sad when I run out of anything and so use as little of everything as possible. I realise this is silly and should probably start USING the things I buy lol
    Have a great one! x http://xnta.blogspot.com/

  5. That box is so pretty! Very lovely mini-collection. I'm thinking of reorganizing my stash this way, by frequency of use and making things I want to make myself use more accessible. Right now everything is sorted by type of product, which is nice but makes me go through several drawers in the morning and that's unpractical.

  7. @Ellymakeupbag - preaching to the choir!

@xNTA - Yeah I have a weird ocd-like compulsion to finish products - probably because there are so many duds that never get used up that when one does I feel like it was money well spent!

@Robyn - Perfect Finish is great, especially the colour match for me. Not sure why your comment's shown twice - I had to switch to comment approval as I got one too many dodgy sexy-time spam links left on my blog! It's annoying though as nice genuine comments have to wait for me to get home from work!

@Musing on Beauty - I have my main stash organised by function too, but don't have the wherewithal in the morning to hunt through for what I need!

@EVE-O-LUTION - It's the only way I manage to find time to apply the warpaint in the morning!

  10. Ooh nice post. I love how you keep it all in a box (and such a pretty box!)
What is the larger Accessorize item? I don't think our Superdrug stocks it. We've got the blushers (which I love) but haven't seen any larger pans.

  13. Really nice to see how you use a mixture of high end and cheap products.

I keep all the regularly used stuff/things I'm trying to use up in the top drawer of my desk at home, which also sadly serves as my vanity.

How long does it normally take you to apply everything?

I'm off to search for a Georgia swatch and deciding if I need to do yet another Benefit haul soon, lol.

  14. LOVE that box, it's so pretty, such a good idea having your everyday make up separate, stealing this idea!

  20. I ran out of YSL's Touche Eclat so I decided to go for the No7 version as it's cheaper and I like it better than the YSL!

  21. @Phyrra - I don't but I can do a post on it. I doubt it would show up very much in a swatch, but when applied as a finishing powder I do think my skin is glowy. Will do a post about it if you like?

    @Zoe - It's their baked bronzer in Monaco - it's a bit like a MAC MSF.

@Cassie - it normally take about 10-15 mins

@Cherries in the Show - yes it's not bad, but mine's started to smell a bit funny so I must throw it out! Ew!
